Auckland to Adelaide
Date: Thursday 25 August 2011
Flight: NZ791
Seat: 4F
Aircraft: Airbus A320-232
Registration: ZK-OJF
An early start.
No problems in returning the hire car.
Went to the premium check in, tried the self serve machine, but had issues with that. After being checked in manually, no problems.
After breakfast we decided it was time to go through customs etc. Strangely our carry ons were weighed there and not back at check in.
After that was a waiting game until the gate opened.
Soon got settled on the plane.
Take off was smooth.
Was raining outside, so rain on the window made photos a bit harder at first.
Breakfast was offered, scrambled egg or museli, wasn’t too hungry after having breakfast at the airport. Dad had the scrambled egg.
So after that not much happened, a little bit of turbulence here and there.
A light snack, a sandwich was served later in the flight.
Approach into Adelaide was turbulent in places.
Another smooth landing.
Got another flight deck photo on the way out.
Customs was typical Australian, maximum queues, minimum staff.
All flights on air new Zealand were good. Would fly with them again.
Overall it was a great trip to Canada, US and New Zealand. Flying on the DHC 2 Beaver was one of the highlights.
Good to go on a holiday, but it is good to get home too.
